The CASSEM Conference shared the knowledge acquired
during the CASSEM project, and highlighted new findings that have been developed throughout the life of the project.
CASSEM is a £2.5million, three-year project funded by the EPSRC
which brings together industries from across the CCS development chain, to develop methodologies, workflows and insights, essential
for the successful identification and evaluation of safe and effective CO2 storage in saline aquifers.
CASSEM uses two contrasting UK exemplar sites, based on existing
power station locations from the utility partners in the project,
Scottish Power and SSE, to ensure that the
research and approaches taken were relevant.
The meeting covered a range of topics spanning the complete capture, transport
and storage chain.
